Pinecone Academy Editors

Last updated 2026-06-07

What Pinecone Academy does is teach beginners how to make sense of crypto and money. But crypto is high-risk by nature, so what we can stand behind, and what we can't, is set out here, to save you from misreading us.

Remember this one line first
Crypto prices swing hard, and you can lose your entire stake. With futures, leverage, and perpetuals especially, losing everything, or even ending up owing money, is possible. Don't believe anything that says "guaranteed gains" or "principal protected, high yield."

The content is education only, not investment advice

Every article, tool, chart, and example number on this site is educational and for reference. None of it is, or should be read as: investment advice, financial advice, a trading signal, a recommendation to buy or sell any coin or product, or any instruction tailored to your situation.

We don't know your income, your debts, your risk tolerance, or your household circumstances. We're not qualified to make financial decisions for you, and we don't. Any "for example" or "what we usually do" you see is there to help you understand the principle, not to be copied.

About the calculators on this site

The DCA simulator, fee calculator, and position calculator all run in your browser on the assumptions you enter. The numbers they produce are figures for a hypothetical scenario, not predictions, and certainly not promises of returns. Real outcomes depend on the market, and the market won't move along the "assumed annual rate" you typed in. Treat them as scratch paper for thinking things through, not a guarantee about the future.

Data may be stale; go by official pages

Prices, fees, market caps, platform rules: this kind of information changes fast. We try to flag the numbers that go stale (for instance, writing "using Binance's standard spot rate of around 0.1% as an example" and reminding you "go by what the exchange page shows in real time"), but we still can't guarantee it's right by the time you read this.

So: for any decision involving specific fees, rules, or product terms, go by the official page or official announcement from the exchange or party involved. Where our content and the official information disagree, the official source wins, not us.

This is not an exchange's official website

Pinecone Academy is an independent third-party information site. It is not the official website of Binance or any exchange, and it's not affiliated with them. We don't handle your account, your funds, support, or appeals. For account, withdrawal, or risk-control issues, go through the exchange's official channels. Anyone posing as us to handle these things is not us.

You decide, and the risk is yours

Whether to enter the crypto market, how much to put in, and how to do it, are all your decisions, and the gains and losses are yours to carry. We've laid out the risks we can think of as plainly as we can, but laying them out doesn't mean we carry them for you. You're the one pressing the button.

If you're unsure, or the amount you mean to put in isn't trivial for you, seriously consider talking to a licensed financial adviser first. That's not a throwaway line.

One thing in particular
Only touch crypto with money you can lose without it affecting your life. Borrowing, running up a credit card, or dipping into living costs or an emergency fund to invest is how beginners crash hardest, and hurt most.

Scope of liability

To the extent the law allows, Pinecone Academy is not liable for any direct or indirect loss arising from your use of, or reliance on, the content, tools, or external links on this site. This site may link to third-party sites (such as exchanges); their content and conduct are their responsibility and outside our control.
